Larry King has filed for divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick King, after nearly 22 years of marriage.
The Blast was first to break the news Larry had filed divorce papers. His lawyer also confirmed the demise of the marriage to People magazine.
In the court documents obtained by The Blast, Larry has stated irreconcilable differences as the reason for dissolving the marriage. The separation date for the couple was listed as June 9th of this year.
News of the split comes after years of speculation Larry, and Shawn’s marriage was on the rocks. In 2016 The Larry King Live host accused his wife of having an affair. Since then, sources close to the couple shared with TMZ, their marriage has been in a downward spiral.

The breaking point for Larry came two months ago. It was shortly after Larry was in the hospital following his issues from heart problems. TMZ has a source that claims Shawn took that opportunity to have legal documents drawn up that allegedly were trying to cut their kids inheritance significantly.
Larry and Shawn have two sons, Chace age 20 and Cannon age 19. The source states both boys feel their mother was purposely trying to screw them out of their inheritance. Larry is also father to son Larry Jr. age 57, as well as daughter Chaia age 50.
The celebrity website does not mention anything about King’s other children. It only says his son’s with Shawn.
Now, this is not the first-time paperwork has been filed for divorce. After a National Enquirer report surfaced in 2010 accusing Shawn of having an affair with their son’s baseball coach, Hector Penate, Larry filed for divorce. Even though Penate confirmed the relationship, Shawn and Larry decided to make the marriage work.

However, there is speculation his two sons with Shawn are involved, and they are insisting their father get a divorce. Shawn has yet to fire back at her husband.
